Grade Level : 11
Time:
Duration : 60 minutes

LEARNING COMPETENCY/IES: The Learner presents written research Code:

(Taken from the Curriculum Guide) methodology CS_RS11-IVa-c-4
KEY CONCEPTS/
UNDERSTANDINGS TO BE Methodology implies the methods intended to use to collect data.
DEVELOPED
1. OBJECTIVES:
Knowledge  Discuss the different research designs used in researches
Skills  Generates a written research methodology
Attitude  Demonstrate cooperation in group tasks
Values  Display concern for others/members of the group
2. CONTENT Research designs

3. LEARNING RESOURCES

4. PROCEDURES
1. Introductory Activity – Review of the previous lesson.

Question…. Consequence…. Surprise (using indigenous materials)

(Adapted from Ms. Danelyn Paraiso- Carcar City Division)

4.1 Introductory Activity

Mechanics:

1. The teacher posts the chart on the board.

2. The teacher plays an up-beat song or music while a floor wax box with numbers 1-9
inside is passed around.
3. When the music stops playing, the student who holds the box picks a number in the
box.
4. Each number has a corresponding question, task or surprise.
5. The student shall answer the question, perform the task and receive the surprise.
6. Questions shall be related to the previous lesson.
7. Tasks could be done through singing, dancing or acting.
8. Surprise is considered as bonus; the learner gets candy, chocolate or biscuit.
9. The procedure continues until the questions are already answered or should there be
spare time for the activity.

Show to the students the animation video.

4.2. Activity

4.3. Analysis Answer the following questions:

1) What does the video tell us about?
2) What do we need if we want to know or analyse something?
3) If we need data, how are we going to collect them?
4) Do you know any methods of collecting data?
Teacher discusses writing research design for their research and shows samples.
4.4. Abstraction

4.5. Application In the same ten groups, students write a research design for their research study.

Using the research design they wrote, they are graded according to the following rubric

Methodology is correctly described 5 4 3 2 1 N/A

4.6. Assessment
Methodology is logically defended 5 4 3 2 1 N/A

Correct assumptions behind the methodology are

5 4 3 2 1 N/A
described and defended

4.7. Assignment Study in advance: Data Collection

4.8. Concluding Activity

5. REMARKS

6. REFLECTIONS

A. No. of learners who earned 80% in

the evaluation
B. No. of learners who require
additional activities for remediation.
C. Did the remedial lessons work? No.
of learners who have caught up with
the lesson
D. No. of learners who continue to
require remediation
E. Which of my strategies worked
well? Why did these work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter
which my principal or supervisor
can help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized
materials did I use/discover which I
wish to share with other teachers?
