Hi! My name is Mariam Y. Karis, and I'm a student at St.

Peter's College in Iligan. I'm working on my degree to become an

elementary school teacher. With my 24th birthday coming up on

March 19, I've been thinking a lot about where I come from.

My mother's blend of Christian, Chinese and Arab descent, along

with my father's pure Maranao roots. This mix makes my family

background really interesting, and it's something I love a lot.

I'm the youngest kid in my family and I'm not married yet,

which has given me the chance to really go after what I want in

life. My brothers have already started their own families, and now

it's my turn to make my mark, starting with my career in teaching.

I'm at the starting line of my teaching career, and I know that

being a teacher means I have to keep getting better at what I know.

The Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) is a crucial step in this

journey, serving as a gateway to professional practice.

I'm still new to this whole LET Enhancement thing, but I understand

that it's all about going over the important stuff that teachers need to know

how to do. It covers a bunch of different teaching topics, like how to teach

well, plan lessons, and get how kids think and feel as they grow up.

The road ahead looks tough, but I can't wait to learn as much as I

can. The LET Enhancement is going to help me get better at the teaching

theory I've learned and also get better at actually teaching in a classroom.

It's going to give me the confidence to teach kids and help them learn.

On this trip to becoming a teacher, I'm really

excited to bring my family's culture into my

classroom. I want to make sure all my students feel

included and excited to learn. I'm not just following

a dream; I'm working toward a big goal—to be a key

part of education in the future. I'm up for the

challenge and ready to go!
