EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 001

Series of 2024

REORGANIZING THE BARANGAY COUNCIL FOR THE PROTECTION OF

CHILDREN (BCPC) OF BARANGAY #7 BARUYEN, BANGUI, ILOCOS NORTE.

WHEREAS, DILG MC No. 2002-121 dated August 5, 2002, enjoins all Local Chief Executives to
organize/reorganize Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) in their respective areas of
jurisdiction and take the lead in implementing all children-related programs, projects and activities in their
localities;

WHEREAS, the DILG shall be responsible in overseeing the organization and functionality of the Council;

NOW THEREFORE, I EDNALYN T. RIGATES, Punong Barangay of Barangay Baruyen, Bangui, Ilocos
Norte, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order the following:

Section 1. COMPOSITION. Pursuant to DILG MC 2002-121. There is hereby created a Barangay

Council for the Protection of Children which shall be composed of the following:

Chairman: EDNALYN T. RIGATES -Punong Barangay

Co-Chairman: ROBERT C. GUZON -Barangay Kagawad
Members: EVELYN G. JAUCIAN -Barangay Kagawad
RUBY JANE B. GUIMMAYEN -Barangay Nutrition Scholar
RUTH N. RIBUYACO -DCW
CRISTINA M. VELASCO -DCW
LAARNIE JOY B. CASTRO -BHW
CRISENDA MAGARRO -Midwife
MARGIE M. ALUPAY -BES Principal
FERNANDO P. LABRADOR -Task Force on Youth Dev’t Rep.
NORMELYN GACES -PTA President/Representative
MEL JOYCE L. AGUINALDO -UNKS Teacher
KRISTINE JOYCE R. GACES -Barangay Secretary

Section 2. FUNCTIONS. The BCPC shall have the following functions:

1. Foster the rights of every child.

2. Adopt measures for the health and welfare of the children.
3. Promote wholesome entertainment in the community.
4. Provide coordinate linkages with other agencies in planning, monitoring and evaluation of plans for
children.
5. Establish and maintain a Database on Children.
6. Protect and assist children in need of special protection.
7. Monitor situational reports on children.
8. Take steps to prevent juvenile delinquency and assist parents of children with behavioral problems.
9. Advocate the establishment and maintenance of playgrounds and day care centers.
10. Advocate the passage pf barangay resolutions responsive to child-related issued and concerns.

Section 3. EFFECTIVITY. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
