3. Objectives: At the end of the lesson students will be able to:


- Recognize and use can/ could to give/ refuse and ask for permission.

10’ - T give some examples:
Ex: You can watch another film, but
you can’t have any more chocolate.
Could I go to the bathroom, please?
- T elicit the way to use can/ could.

permission.
15’ Act 4: Write one rule with can and
one rule with can’t for each place.
(Exercise 7+8, SB p81, OXG3)
- Divide class into 2 teams.
- Ss run to the board and write all the
rules for each place.
- Ss have to use both can/ can’t.
- The team with the most correct
sentences wins.
- Have Ss 5m to complete their
exercises in their books.
- Then Ss work in groups, choose
one of the places in exercise 7, say
the rules but don’t say the place.
Other Ss guess the place.

Act 5: Tick the correct answer.

10’ - Have Ss time to complete their
exercises in their books.
- Ss swap their books, check the
answers.
- T check the answers with class
by inviting Ss to read the correct
sentences.
Act 6: Listen and tick. (Exercise

- Ss work in pairs, look at the
pictures and guess the story of each
picture.
- T play the audio twice, Ss listen
and tick yes/no.
- T play the audio again, Ss check
the answers.
- Then Ss listen again, put the
responses in the correct place.

- T check the answers.

10’ Act 7: Speaking (Exercise 12,


OXG3, SB p82)
- Ss work in pairs, ask their partner’s
permissions to do something. Their
partners will give or refuse
permission.
Ex: Can I take photos here?
No, I’m afraid not.
- T invites some pairs to practice.
