5. Executive summary
In networks where there are frequent transport fluctuations, there will be instantaneous
reconfigurations of the BCCH and other carriers. In order to have a stable performance for the
GSM services, it is recommended to change the alarm informing and cancellation time if there are
frequent D-Channel fluctuations.

6. Detailed description
Alarm 7705 is raised when there are LAPD failures. In cases where there are network fluctuations,
it is recommended to change the Informing Delay and Cancel Delay values for the Alarm 7705.
This will help tolerate the disturbances by allowing some time before changing the GSM carriers

7. Solution and correction instructions
7.1 Instructions for the correction
Alarm 7705 tracks the D Channel status of every carrier. Each alarm has two configurable
parameters, Informing Delay Time (timer to raise the alarm) and Cancel Delay Time (timer to
cancel the alarm post the recovery).
By default, the IDL and CDL for Alarm 7705 is set as 0.
In cases where the Transmission is not stable it is recommended to increase the time to avoid
BCCH reconfiguration by changing the IDL and CDL values for the alarm 7705.
The recommended value for IDL and CDL is 60 seconds for 7705 alarm in case of LAPD/PCM
fluctuations.
