LESSON PLAN
for Gift of Love Child Care Center

Subject: Shapes
Grade Level: Nursery & Kinder
Duration: 1 hour & 30 mins.

Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
1. Identify and name different shapes
2. Recognize the objects by its shape.

Introduction:
Begin the lesson with a warm welcome and a morning exercise to let the children be more
active and alert throughout the class. After the exercise, assess what the children already
know about the topics before starting. Then, introduce the day's topic which is shapes.

Lesson Proper
PART 1: SHAPES
Duration: 45 minutes
In this part, we will show them different shapes using cut out flashcards and ask them to
repeat after us.
Materials: Shapes cut outs, Chart (Shape), Paper & pencil/Crayon
Activity: We provided the copy of activity sheet and will conduct an activity which the
children will match the following objects by those who have the same shape in the picture.

PART 2: INTERACTIVE ACTIVITY

Duration: 15 minutes
In this part, we will conduct an interactive activity. The teachers will stand at the front with
different choices for the game. The children will be instructed to raise their hands if they know
the correct answer and say it to the teacher for them to have a stamp or sticker since they did
a good job answering.

BREAK TIME...
Duration: 15 minutes

PART 3: STORYTELLING
Duration: 15 minutes
In this part, we will engage the children in storytelling activities using children's books. We will
read the books to the children and encourage them to interact and will ask questions from
time to time.
Materials: Children's short story book.

Ending Remarks
Have a short recap about the lesson and give praise for the children's participation and effort.
After this, the teachers will end the class on a positive note.

Dessert: Choco Drink and Buko Pandan Gulaman
We will be assisting with the feeding program and bring desserts for the children to
eat. Since it feels like summer these days, we will bring desserts that the children
may eat to lessen the heat that we suffer from. We want to share this refreshing good
vibes and joy to everyone.
