Direction:
In not less than 150 words write an essay and/or reaction/reflection paper based on your
own opinion/perspective on the given questions on the topic of Community Immersion in the
course NSTP 2.

1. “A self-reliant and self-managed (sustainable) community is the primary goal of

every community organization.”

2. As a NSTP 2 Student-Trainee give at least 3-5 things/ideas on how you can

involve/engage yourself in the community/barangay/barrio/municipal where you belong right
now. What is your reaction in the government or private sectors that involve in this trend such as
Modernization of jeepneys Hazing, teenage pregnancy, and many more.
Answers:
1. A self-reliant and self-managed community means that the community uses all factors
in their environment and the people services without the help of other communities.
Its primary goal because it will promote the unity and being productiveness of the
people. Both of the community and the people who are living in the community will
move in harmony because everyone will get a chance to be heard. It is also significant
to have a community like this because it will be easier to find out the community and
people problems and better solutions on how to solve those problems. All people will
learn how to be self-reliant. This will increase positiveness which can result to more
effective services oh the people. If all people in the community learned, it will
improve the standard living of our society through the future.
2. As a student, I can think ways on how I will help my barangay. Number one is to
volunteer every time on local events. In this way I can help my barangay unite its
people and improve my intrapersonal skills. Lastly is to join a group or organization
in the community. Being involve in elections like SK election can promote unity in
helping making decisions what is best for the communities, people will be heard and
can also develop my leadership skills in the future. I was sad and both scared for the
future of our community. In modernizing the jeepneys, it is bitter to know that they
must phase out the old jeepneys, but I also think it is for the good because it will help
develop our society, second is the hazing issue. It is sad to know that there are people
capable doing those things, I thought fraternities can help you be a better person but
this gives me a whole new perspective about the meaning of fraternities. As a NSTP
student I hope this subject will help me develop and improve on to be a effective
citizen in our country to be ready in the future.
