Safety solutions for ammonia transport system by

underwater piping
 Introduction
◦ My goal with this presentation is to make available to the company Tekfen all my safety experience with processes
involving ammonia.
◦ My particular opinion is that this pipe is similar to the pipes that exist on the ground, except that instead of having air
around the pipe, there is water. And that's just a matter of corrosion control and fixing stability.
◦ Therefore, what is needed at this time, in addition to the best engineering design for pipe construction, is to make an
effective emergency response process. It is at this moment that I can put your experience to my mind, to think about the
greatest possibility of emergency scenarios and the possible techniques that can be made available to solve them.
◦ I am sending you some pictures of work I have been doing as a risk management and emergency response
professional. I have practically done work on the entire ammonia production chain, not much on manufacturing alone.
But I have experience in transporting ammonia, both in tanker trucks and in cylinders. I have already done work on the
process of unloading ammonia from the ship to the unpressurized storage tanks for 20,000 tons of ammonia, and then
proceeding to a 9 kilometer pipeline to a distribution center.
I also do a lot of risk management work with ammonia users, both in the refrigeration business and in the manufacture
of nitrogen fertilizers.
◦ I want to make available to the TEKFEN company my professional experience in working with the ammonia chemist, as
well as to make available my personal characteristics of dedication, commitment, hard work and enthusiasm. In this way,
I am offering my services as an ammonia risk management consultant.
Who I am
◦ I am a Brazilian chemical engineer who is
working with Risk Analysis and Emergency
Response with Hazardous Materials for the last
15 years and since 2015 I have been worked
with Ammonia. Such as in refrigeration and
fertilizer plants safety improvements, preparing
teams for emergency response in Ammonia
plants plus responding to a few emergencies in
roadways and factories with Ammonia. In my
career I have also been working for two years
in a company called MHE Consulting
Engineers in Canada, designing water and
sewer treatment plants - a company that taught
me to invest my talents in order to receive a
greater turnaround on opportunity.
