Reading is an important skills that needs to be developed in children.
Reading is also the fundamental skills for the learners to easily learn the lessson.
Through in reading the pupils can know different things, explore different places
and also activate their imagination. As the pupils go to higher grades, they tend
to improve their reading skills.

We the 4rth year college taking Bachelor of elemetary education our team
goes and choose Barangay Buayan to conduct our program called “Read With
Me’’ we ask a permession to do the Read with Me at Punong Barangay Rogelio
G. Solis. He asked us on how is are motivate in their barangay and after that he
gave us permission to start.

My first day in ‘’Read With Me’’ monday morning I wake up in early and
prepared my self to first day of my duty I am bit nervous and excited for what will
happen in my first day I am new everything around me so I calm my self and I
say I can do it. After 1 hour we travel at barangay Minanga to looking for the
children. We had a hard time looking for the children because they were all at
school. Luckily, we found a daycare at brngy Minanga and they asked us what
we were going to do. We told them that we were volunteers studying at Golden
State College, and it was part of our requirements to complete our 250 hour we
enter the classroom and instuct the children in the alphabet and sounds after that
we had a photo taken with their teacher. In the afternoon we went to barangay
hall to update our attendance before going to another barangay to teach. We
went to Zone 1 barangay buayan, to look for children it was tiring to walk
because all the children were in school. While we walking to their house, we saw
some children playing outside their house, so we came to them. We say to their
parents we are the volunteers to theach the their children who are not
studying ,and they let us all inside their house when we enetered. We took our
materials and taught them different words.

The next day, we went the buayan gym to have lunch and rest. When we
finished, we made arrangements to start at the RWM before we taught the
children, I first asked them if they already knew that alpabet , so other children
already knew and were familiar with it the other children didn’t know yet so I
taught tehm the alphabeti and read other words. After that I asked them if they
know the letters I was showing them that it’s fun to teach, especially when they
learn something for you and the afternoon we stayed at the gym to prepared
materials for the children that we will teach, and we taught them how to write the
letter and count the numbers and we gave them different picture to color. In my
experience, I am happy because I learned how to teach children and how to
teach children and how to handle their behavior in that way
