Caregiving

I. Objectives:

Within the lesson the students are expected to:

1. Define Occupational Health and Safety.

2. Identify the different hazards and risks.

3. Give the effects of hazards that are related in caregiving through graphic organizer.

4. Appreciate the importance of occupational health and safety in the workplace by giving the
effects of hazards.

II. Subject Matter:

Technology and Livelihood Education – Caregiving Exploratory Course Gr. 7 & 8

Topic: Hazards and Risks

Materials: Laptop, television, pictures, chalk and black board

IV. Procedure:

A. Daily Routine:

 Prayer

 Check attendance and the cleanliness of the classroom.

 Review of past lesson.

B. Motivation: Watch Napo film clip.

C. Presentation of the lesson.

1. What is the video all about?

2. What is your understanding about hazards and risks?

D. Activity: Identify the hazards in the picture.

E. Analysis:

1. How do you identify hazards?

2. What are the different types of hazards?

F. Abstraction:
1. What is physical hazard?

2. When can you say that someone is exposed to biological hazard?

3. What causes ergonomic hazard?

4. When does a caregiver be exposed to a chemical hazard?

5. How psychological hazard takes place?

G. Application:

Each one will make a graphic organizer of the examples and effects of the hazard
assigned to them in 5 mins. , then present their work in the class.
