Jan 1-Feb1 8 Can/food drive I helped organize this event with my
church. We spent time making
informational posters about what
we needed, who our recipients were
going to be, and any other
information needed. At the end of
the month, we spent time sorting
through everything making sure we
had everything that we needed. We
had a few people donate money as
their busy lives got in the way, so I
was able to take that money and go
shopping for any items we may have
been missing. I learned what kind of
leadership roles that I play, and I
learned that even though we made
a difference in the surrounding
community, there are still so many
people that need food. It also made
me realize that I would love to help
organize a clothing drive, personal
item drive, and any other items that
people may need.
March 5 2 Dinner volunteer- Isabella I was able to volunteer during the
County Restoration Home dinner time and into the short play
time that they had before bed time.
I made sure everyone had dinner
that wanted it and was able to play
games with the kids for a little bit. I
have done this since my sophomore
year of college and it is always
different and is always a learning
experience. Everyone is so grateful
no matter what.

March 6 2 House cleaning I have a bar regular at Applebee’s
that has been having a hard time
doing things around their home, so a
few coworkers and I went over
there and helped with a deep clean
and organization of the home. In
talking with him, I realized that
there are so many elderly people
around here that like to live
independently but need so much
help. If I had more time in Mount
Pleasant, I would definitely get a
group together to help.
