Section 2: Determining GAPS

introduction, body, and conclusion format._____________________
2. What are the major features and parts of the genre you will produce for The Literature Review?

There must be a basic introduction, body, and


conclusion format. The introduction must include a
controlling idea that reveals what you have found to
be the most important issues and subtropics within
the varying research perspectives available for your
topic. In the body paragraphs, your essay must
support your controlling idea with quoted evidence
from your peer-reviewed journal articles and
explanation of that evidence. Each body paragraph
must engage evidence from a minimum of 2
articles, so that evidence from all 8 articles has been
incorporated by the time the essay reaches the
conclusion. The body paragraph can be grouped into
sub-points with appropriate section headers, making
the research you present clear, cohesive, and easy to
follow. The conclusion must restate the controlling
idea and explain why it is significant.

and create the « Works Cited » page of the Literature Review). Signing up for group conference times and
submitting the first draft to Turnitin on Blackboard.

What steps for finishing Essay 1 should be completed in Week 7?


Post your draft to your group’s discussion board page (before the conference). Download, read, and annotate all
your group members’ drafts before re-uploading your marked up version of their drafts (before the conference).
Have 5 questions prepared to ask during the discussion (before the conference). Come to the group conference.
Make corrections to the paper from the changes you discussed during the meeting.

respond to the questions in the « Peer Review Editing » worksheet. Complete working with peer review
feedback worksheet. Read the Literature Review Reflection Prompt and begin working on the Literature
Review final draft. Submit Literature Review Final Draft and Literature Review Reflection to Turnitin on
Blackboard.
