PURPOSE To act out in a role-play pointing out advantages and disadvantages in different contexts.

WARM UP British Racism & The Latino Experience: students watch a video and express their thoughts
about what it's like to be a Latina living in the UK.

● Open discussion: students answer the questions below.


- How is people's identity forced to be repressed when being abroad?
DEVELOPMENT - Why should people be proud of who they are?
- Is it wrong to fake being someone else to fit into society?
- Why shouldn't we judge a book by its cover?

● Students do the preparation exercise first. Then watch the video and do the exercises
to check your understanding and practice the language.

the teacher in class.
● Students learn some expressions to express agreement and disagreement as well
as some others to discuss advantages and disadvantages.

FINAL PRODUCTION ● Discussing advantages and disadvantages: students work in teams and create a role
play where they act out an invented situation using some of the expressions learned in
the class to discuss advantages and disadvantages.
