Introduction

The learning
environment plays a critical
role in the teaching and
learning process. It has to be
understood that the learning
environment does not only
include the four walls of the
classroom and the school
structure itself, but also the
community to which a
learner belongs. The
learning environment
influences the learner so
much that it supplements
and complements whatever
is learned in the classroom
through the guidance of a
teacher. It is therefore
important that both the
school and the community
work together as partners in
the creation of a conducive
learning environment.
