ME AS A LEADER

People all across the world are suffering as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Filipinos
have been stuck in a reactionary spiral for the better part of 2020, alternating between lockdowns
and reopenings that don’t do anything to prevent the country from becoming trapped in deadly
repetition.
If I were elected President of the Philippines, I would focus on encouraging more
Filipinos to get vaccinated. Getting the shot, in my opinion, can benefit us in more ways than we
anticipated. By doing so, we can begin the process of reopening our borders to travelers so that
the tourism industry, which has been impacted by the pandemic, may resumes operations.
Since the coronavirus Covid-19 spreads in crowded, poorly ventilated areas, open spaces
would be made more accessible. Streets might be pedestrianized for businesses, while parks and
beaches could be promoted as mall alternatives. Making changes may not always necessitate the
construction of new infrastructure, but rather the revamping of current infrastructure to make it
safer.
As President, I would ensure that our health-care workers are paid more, including hazard
pay and other benefits. I’ll also make sure that hungry families have food on the table so that we
can all get through this period of uncertainty. Our assistance is also needed by students. Giving
them accommodations and addressing their needs for their online class can go a long way in
assisting them.
Failure to take steps to lead the country out of the pandemic leaves Filipinos exposed not
just to the current crisis, but also to future crises. It’s key juncture in history, and anything that
can be done must be done now, before the wave occurs.
