CHAPTER IV

This chapter is the presentation, analysis and interpretation of data obtained from the assigned

Police Officer of Bongabong Municipal Police Station through distributing survey questionnaires

distributed by the researchers.

1. Demographic profile of the assigned Police Officers in Municipal Police Station of Bongabong,

Oriental Mindoro in terms of:

1.1 Age

Table 1.1 Shows the frequency and percentage distribution of the assigned Police Officers in

Base on the table, the highest number of respondents falls within the age range of 34-39

years old, with a frequency of 13 and a percentage of 40%. Following this group, the age of 40-45

years old comes second, with a frequency of 10 or 33.33%. The third-largest group consists of

individuals aged 28-33, with a frequency of 5 or 16.67%. Lastly, the respondent with the age of 46

above with a frequency of 3 or 10%. A total frequency of 30 or 100%

Majority of the respondents are male with the frequency of twenty-three (23) or 76.67%

whereas, female got a frequency of seven (7) or 23.33% with a total frequency of thirty (30) or 100%.

Respondents with the rank of Police Master Sergeant got the highest frequency of nine (9) or

30% followed by the respondents with the rank of Police Staff Sergeant and Police Corporal with the

frequency of six (6) or 20%, then followed by the respondents with the rank of Police Chief Master

Sergeant and with the frequency of four (4) or 13.33%, next is the respondents with the rank of Staff

Sergeant and Patrol Woman with the frequency of two (2) or 6.67% and last is the respondent with the

rank of Police Executive Master sergeant with the frequency of one (1) or 3.33%.

2. What are the Technological Innovation use in Detecting and Preventing Crimes in the

Municipality of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro in terms of:

2.1 Using Close-Circuit Television (CCTV)

which pertains to the CCTV serve as a tool to identify the strategies used by the perpetrator in

committing the act. Then, item number 4 got the second rank with a mean of 4.43 has a description of

agree which implies to CCTV camera helps the police officer to distinguish other persons who may

have serve as accomplice to the crime. Next, item number 1 got the third rank with a mean of 4.40

described as agree which stated that CCTV records the scene that can help Police Officer in solving the

reported incidents in every area while, item number 5 got the fourth rank with a mean of 4.37 which

has a description of agree which demonstrate that CCTV cameras helps the Police officer in solving

crime by providing lead. Lastly, item number 3 got the lowest rank with a mean of 4.23 which has a

description of agree which demonstrate that There is a feeling of safety among individual who stay in

area where there is CCTV.

To sum up, an average weighted mean of 4.38 revealed that the respondents agreed that there

were technological innovations in terms of Close-Circuit Television (CCTV) in detecting and

preventing crimes in the Municipality of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro.

has a description of agree which implies to Law enforcement officer uses computer in crime reporting,

surveillance and intelligence gathering. Next, item number 2 got the third rank with a mean of 4.27

described as agree which stated that Police Officers uses computer to keep the file of the offender in a

safe place while, item number 3 got the fourth rank with a mean of 4.07 which has a description of

agree which demonstrate that by using computer law enforcement officer becomes more proactive in

their work. Lastly, item number 1 got the lowest rank with a mean of 3.87 which has a description of

agree which demonstrate that Computers are used by Police Officers to track where the suspect could

be and where they used to live.

To sum up, an average weighted mean of 4.19 revealed that the respondents agreed that there

were technological innovations in terms of using computers in detecting and preventing crimes in the

Municipality of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro.

fourth rank with a mean of 4.20 which has a description of agree which indicates the Mobile

application with facial recognition capabilities assist in identifying individuals linked to criminal cases.

Lastly, item number 3 got the lowest rank with a mean of 4.07 and has a description of agree which

state that Mobile phones can help the Police Officers to track the whereabouts of the criminals.

To sum up, an average weighted mean of 4.29 revealed that the respondents agreed that there

were technological innovations in terms of using mobile phone/mobile application in detecting and

preventing crimes in the Municipality of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro.

This chapter presents the summary of findings, conclusions, and recommendation offered by the
researchers.

Summary of the Findings

1. Demographic profile of the assigned Police Officers in Municipal Police Station of Bongabong,

Oriental Mindoro in terms of:

1.1 Age

The findings showed that the highest number of respondents falls within the age range of 34-39

years old, totaling 12 individuals. Following this group, the age group of 40-45 years old comes

second, with 10 respondents. The third-largest group consists of individuals aged 28-33, totaling 5

respondents. Lastly, there were 3 respondents aged 46 years old and above.

1.2 Sex

Majority of the respondents are male with the frequency of twenty-three (23) or 76.67%

whereas, female got a frequency of seven (7) or 23.33% with a total frequency of thirty (30) or 100%.

1.3 Rank/Designation

In terms of Rank/Designation respondents with the rank of Police Master Sergeant got the

highest frequency of nine (9) or 30% followed by the respondents with the rank of Police Staff

Sergeant and Police Corporal with the frequency of six (6) or 20%, then followed by the respondents

with the rank of Police Chief Master Sergeant and with the frequency of four (4) or 13.33%, next is the
respondents with the rank of Staff Sergeant and Patrol Woman with the frequency of two (2) or 6.67%

and last is the respondent with the rank of Police Executive Master sergeant with the frequency of one

(1) or 3.33%.

2. What are the Technological Innovation use in Detecting and Preventing Crimes in the

Municipality of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro in terms of:

2.1 Using Close-Circuit Television (CCTV)

The Technological Innovation use in Detecting and Preventing Crimes in the Municipality of

Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro in terms of Using Close-Circuit Television (CCTV) has an overall mean

of 4.38 which has a description of Agree.

2.2 Using Computer

The overall mean score of 4.19 which implies the Technological Innovation use in Detecting

and Preventing Crimes in the Municipality of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro in terms of Using

Computer has a description of agree.

2.3 Using Mobile Phones

The Technological Innovation use in Detecting and Preventing Crimes in the Municipality of

Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro in terms of Mobile Phones has a description of Agree with an overall

mean of 4.29.
3. The Effectiveness of Technological Innovation to Crime Detection and Prevention in the

Agree revealed that the respondents agreed that technological innovations were effective to crime detection and

The overall mean score of 4.32 which implies to The Effectiveness of Technological Innovation to

There is a significant relationship between the Technological Innovation use in Detecting and

Preventing Crimes in the Municipality of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro in terms of Closed-Circuit

Television and The Effectiveness of technological innovation to crime detection and prevention in the

Municipality of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro in terms of Responding Crimes. This was proven with

Conclusion

Based on the data gathered in the summary of findings the following are drawn:

 Demographic profile of the assigned Police Officers in Municipal Police Station of

Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro in terms of:

1. Age

The researchers found that among 30 respondents; 13 were 34-49 years old, 10 were 40-45 years old, 4

were 28-33 years old and 3 were 46 years old and above.

2. Sex

In terms of Sex, the researchers found that between 30 respondents; 23 were male and 7 were female.

3. Rank/Designation

In terms of rank/ designation, researchers found that 9 were Police Master Sergeants, 6 were Police

Corporals, 6 were Police Staff Sergeants, 4 were Police Chief Master Sergeants, 1 was Deputy Chief of

Police, 1 was Non-Uniformed Personnel, 1 was Patrol Woman, 1 was Police Executive Master

Sergeant, and 1 was Staff Sergeant.

 What are the Technological Innovation use in Detecting and Preventing Crimes in the

Municipality of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro in terms of:

4. Using Close-Circuit Television (CCTV)

The researchers discovered that respondents agreed that there were technological innovations

in terms of Close-Circuit Television (CCTV), in fact “CCTV serves as a tool to identify the strategies

used by the perpetrator in committing the act” had the highest frequency that implies technological
innovations was existing in detecting and preventing crimes particularly in using CCTV according to

the respondents.

5. Using Computer

The researchers found out that “Technological innovations such as computer can store

thousands of images, reports and videos or other evidences” got the greatest frequency saying that there

were really technological innovations in terms of using computers in detecting and preventing crimes in

the municipality of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro.

6. Using Mobile Phones

In terms of using Mobile phones/ Mobile applications, the researchers found that there were

also innovations and “Mobile phones may use to receive anonymous tips about potential criminal

activities, aiding law enforcement in their investigation” got the most frequency expressing those

innovations in terms of mobile phones/ mobile applications were existing in detecting and preventing

crimes in the municipality of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro.

The researchers found that technological innovations were effective to crime detection and prevention in

criminal investigations of police officers.

Recommendations

Based on the aforesaid conclusion, the researchers would like to suggest the following:

1. Since technological innovations in terms of using CCTV in detecting and preventing crimes was

effective, researchers suggest that respondents must nurture the existing technology to make their

duties implemented easier and faster.

2. The police officers of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro should take good care of the computers

they’re utilizing in detecting and preventing crimes in order for them to maintain their effectiveness

to their job especially in restorations of reliable and significant evidences.

3. The respondents must advance their knowledge and skills in using mobile phones and mobile

applications in order for them to maximize all the related uses of this gadget in preventing and

detecting crimes.

4. Since technological innovations were effective in responding crimes, Police officers should keep

themselves intact in utilizing the new technology to keep themselves more alert and efficient when

responding crimes.

5. Police officers should continue integrating technology to their work especially when

communicating with other police force and to the community to sustain the betterment and

effectivity of Police officers in enforcing policies to the community.

6. In order to sustain the effectivity of technological innovations to crime detection and prevention in

terms of preventing crimes, Police officers must preserve the quality of new technologies they’re

utilizing for the continuous attainment of their future achievements as a Police officer of

Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro.

7. Since technological Innovation use in Detecting and Preventing Crimes and the Effectiveness of

technological innovation to crime detection and prevention in the Municipality of Bongabong,


Oriental Mindoro had significant relationship, the respondents must keep all the useful technology

in good condition, so that they can prolong the effectiveness and quality of the existing technology

for the better and successful outcome of their job.
