COURSE: PhD in Mathematics Education PROFESSOR: Dr. Rosemarievic V. Diaz

COURSE REFLECTION
This course delves deeply into probability, a fundamental aspect of mathematics that
quantifies uncertainty and the likelihood of events occurring in specific scenarios. Its emphasis on
understanding the practical applications of probability across diverse contexts and fields stands out
as a significant insight for me. The challenging problem sets and activities have notably sharpened
my critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which I recognize as a valuable asset in my
teaching profession. I am grateful to Professor Doc Rosemarievic Diaz for allowing us to share
ideas freely with my classmates and for being instrumental in our learning.

During the study, a particularly memorable experience for me was the reporting session
conducted with my peers and professor. Despite grappling with unfamiliar topics, engaging in
discussions with my equally competent classmates proved to be an enriching learning opportunity.
Witnessing the various teaching pedagogies employed during this session has profoundly
influenced my approach to teaching probability, sparking fresh ideas for more effective and
efficient classroom instruction. I am immensely grateful to my classmates for their camaraderie and
collaboration throughout this course, as their support has been instrumental in enhancing my
learning experience and professional development. The invaluable practices and strategies shared
by my peers and professor throughout the course will undoubtedly shape my teaching approach.

Moving forward, I am excited to apply the knowledge, skills, and insights gained from studying
discrete probability to my future endeavors in mathematics education. Whether through research
endeavors, classroom instruction, or professional development initiatives, I am committed to leveraging
my newfound understanding to effect positive change and inspire a love for learning in others, especially
to my students.
