A typical three marla, single-story, masonry, residential housing construction project consists of
the following operations along with the time set for its completion:

The project commences on Wednesday, 14th October. Assuming five working days in a week, (i)
prepare a Gantt chart of the project for the assumptions made below. Also (ii) determine the
total time, and date of completion of the project, and (iii) expected progress by 10th November.
a. Activity 2 can start only after activity 1 is over
b. Activity 3 can start even when half the work of activity 2 is over
c. Activity 4 and activity 5 can start concurrently, but only after activity 3 is over
d. Activity 6 and 7 can start concurrently, but only after activity 5 is complete
e. Activity 8 can only start after activites 6 and 7 are complete
f. Activity 9 can start even when half of activity 8 is over
g. Activity 10 can start only when activity 9 is over
h. Activity 11 can start only when activity 10 is over

The project has fourteen activities A through M. The relationships obtained amongst these
activities are given below:
a. A is the first operation
b. B and C can be performed in parallel and are immediate successors to A
c. D, E, and F Follow B
d. G starts after E
e. H comes after D, but it cannot start until E is complete
f. I and J succeed D (not immediately)
g. F and J immediately preceed K
h. H and I immediately preceed L
i. M immediately succeeds L and K
j. In the last operation, N immediately succeeds M and C
