I own a laptop with Final Cut Pro and I understand the program very well which I think I’m too comfortable with Final Cut Pro and I haven’t explored any other editing

I have tried using a new editing software which was Adobe Premiere Pro for my exploratory project, I have managed to learn the basic editing techniques on it. I really
enjoyed exploring the different features that Adobe Premiere Pro had to offer. This skill was very important for me to learn as I didn’t just want to stick with one editing
software as I really wanted to expand on my editing skills, so that if I were to find an editing job, I can list that i can use both software’s as Adobe Premiere Pro and Final
Cut Pro are the most commonly used for editing. They are also very different software’s with different features so this can show that i can adapt to a new editing
software easily.

At first it was tricky using Adobe Premier Pro as its completely different to Final Cut Pro and was not use to using all the new features i was not familiar with. I have
managed to learn to use Adobe Premiere Pro by watching YouTube tutorials as well as using the skills i already have with Final Cut Pro. So, by the end of this i have
managed to have a fully edited short film for my exploratory project which I was really happy about. So this skill will come very useful for me when I decide to go into
film after graduating as I will be able to offer my two skills which I have in Final Cut Pro as well as Adobe Premiere Pro.

Unfortunely, I have not managed to find any work experience as it was really difficult because most jobs required driving and I didn't pass until the end of the academic year. I
also have a job alongside of university, so it was very hard to balance those out. As the academic year is nearly over, I will have a lot more time to start looking for full time work
around film. I do have editing software at home which is Final Cut Pro so even doing some extra work alongside of me looking for jobs would be a great experience and i will be
trying to do this. I actively will start looking for jobs on Mandy, Indeed and Production base and see what comes up that might interest me. Even though i haven’t been able to
get any work experience i still have a lot of experience that i have gained from my projects that will hopefully help me find a future job in the industry if I decide to go into film.

I have produced, an exploratory project which was a short film thriller which I'm really proud of as I feel like I have achieved the goal I was going for which was
producing a project that showed of my skills, and I feel like this project has really helped in doing this as I have filmed nearly all the scenes all on my own apart from the
scenes I was in. I have never really been that confident in filming on my own, but this project really brought me out of my comfort zone which I'm happy about as i really
enjoyed it and would love to work behind camera a lot more and feel like, I will be willing to work on more projects like this outside on university. I always wanted to
get better at editing as this was my favourite part of every project. During this exploratory project I feel like I have really improved those skills as I have worked on a
genre that I have never really done before and learned many different editing techniques that prepared me for my major project.

I have, really improved on my skills throughout this year which I'm proud about especially, getting better at editing and finding my own style through exploratory project
and major project which is what I was aiming to achieve by the end of the year. The exploratory project had really helped me in making my decision on what I wanted to
do for my Major project which was to make a short film horror. As it really made me realise how much I enjoy making short films. Because of these projects I feel a lot
more confident in taking the next step to carry on building my portfolio outside of university and trying to find work experience elsewhere which I'm very excited for.

For my Major Project I have decided to go for horror genre short film as I really wanted, to play around with suspense and thrill and as I feel like I have had great
practise during making my exploratory project, to do this. Making this project felt a lot easier as I feel like I have put a lot of work into improving all of my film skills
during this academic year. I have had many 1 to 1’s with my teacher as well as with classmates on the possible ideas for this which has really helped me to come up with
the final ideas for both projects. Overall, I have completed 2 amazing projects which i will be proud to show as my portfolio to future employers when I try to go for a
job in the film industry.

By completing my workbooks for both of these projects, this shows that I have managed to accomplish project management and research skills which will come handy
when looking for an office job as they are the key skills that employers look for as well as if I change my mind and go into film this will show that I have had experience
in working in this type of environment and shows that I won’t struggle as I have proved my skills by having a portfolio to show.
