I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
A) Identify what is Festival dance/s;
B) Differentiate the Religious Festivals and Secular/Non-Religious Festivals;
C) Appreciate the importance of Festival Dances; and
D) Perform a simple Festival Dance among the different Religious Festivals and
Secular/Non-Religious Festivals.

Festival Dances- are cultural dances
performed to the strong beats of percussion
instruments by a community of people
sharing the same culture usually done in
honor of a Patron Saint or in thanksgiving of
a bountiful harvest.
Festival dances draw the people’s culture by
portraying the people’s ways of life through
movements, costumes, and implements
inherent tot their place of origin.

Why people celebrate Fiesta?


They celebrate fiesta to give thanks
to God for the blessings and I think it
is part of their culture, Ma’am..

That is correct it usually done in our


community in honor of a Patron Saint or in
thanksgiving of a bountiful harvest.
Basically, festivals are forms of
entertainment that attract foreign and
domestic tourists to visit a place. Eventually,
leading to the elevation of the Filipino’s
quality of life.

GROUP 2- Afi Festival
GROUP 3- Ati-Atihan Festival
