A2 Media Advert Presentation

Gemma Boodell
Brief
An advertising package for a new product or service, to include 2 TV
advertisements, together with 2 of the following 3 options:
• A radio advert
• A TV programme sponsorship sequence
• A web pop up

I have chosen to do this advert because it gives me an opportunity to show the

different stereotypes used when advertising products. I am going to do a his
and hers version of one brand of perfume.
What angle will I be coming from?
• I want to come from a more romantic point of view, my favourite one is the Chanel
advert with Nicole Kidman for the male version and for the female one I will focus
the person who is the main character will swap with each version.
• I think it is appropriate because I think that the majority of people wear perfume to
impress or attract someone. So I want to show the characters having desire for each
other because of the perfume.
How does it differ from AS?
• This brief differs from AS because firstly we had to make a film and the
genre of it was a thriller. To make a film we had to think more about the
plot of the film and to make a gripping story line, whereas with an advert
the main focus should be the perfume and the audience should want to buy
it after they have seen the ad.
• Ideas for:
• Location - Forrest, woods, fields, river, snowy hills, frosty morning
• Style – Romantic, fun, black and white with the bottle in colour
• Content - A male and a female only and the perfume bottles in both the
adverts.
• Scenes for Hers – Her leading them, close and intimate but him in the
background
• Scenes for His – Focusing on him, her in the background
Music Ideas
Songs for Hers:
• L-O-V-E by Joss Stone
• The Rose by Leanne Rimes
• Three times a lady by The Commodores
• Love to love you baby by Donna Summer
• You belong with me by Taylor Swift

Songs for His:

• When a man loves a woman by Percy Sledge
• This love by Maroon 5
What is unusual about it?
• Something that is unusual about my advert is that I
can make it original because no other perfume adverts
do the same sort of theme for both male and a female
• The production can narrow its attention really
narrowly because its focusing on one product.
Who am I aiming it at?
• I am aiming my advert at a 18-30 age range
because I feel like I can understand what that
age group would be attracted to because it is
what i would be attracted to, therefore it is
easier to make an advert that will make the
audience want to buy the product.
