Life-long Learning Activity

Objective: analyze key features of interrelationships of biological,

cultural and sociopolitical processes in human evolution that can still be
used and developed
Simulation activity:
• Let us imagine our earth in the future. What if in that future our
natural environment is totally used up or destroyed in the name of
progress. No more trees, water streams, oceans, clean air and organic
food. How do you think humans would adapt given this scenario?
Bio-cultural and social evolution group
activity
• Form four groups in the class. Each group will be assigned with one
topic ( biological, cultural, social, political evolution) for their
discussion.
• The starting point of the discussion is that humans Must Survive
despite the destruction of their natural environment. To understand
the context of this activity, please do watch the movie Wall-E, the
maze runner, it would give a glimpse of the future and the fate of man
as imagined by writers and film directors of these movie
Biological evolution group
• What would you think will happen to the animals and other biological
organisms? What species will survive and will not? What will be its
effects to our food chain? What do you think man will consume? Add
other scenarios.
Cultural evolution group
• Would you think music religion, fashion and the likes matter in that
future? What values would be important for human? Do you think we
will look and sound the same? Are we going to be born? Add other
scenarios.
Social evolution group
• Are we going to compete aggressively for food and for other basic
needs and then hate and eliminate other people in the process? Will
we become a loner or group dependent? Will there be schools,
church, associations, governments? How would they function? Add
other scenarios.
Political evolution
• What kind of leaders do we have in that future dictator, charismatic,
human/robotic/artificial intelligence? Will there be still be an
election? Will having constitution still relevant? What about
opposition, protest and political criticism – are these going to be
tolerated? Add other scenarios.
Differentiated outputs:
• Each group can choose the manner and mode of presentation. It
could be PowerPoint presentation, a music video, a short play, a short
film or any form for as long as it is the consensus of the group.
