RATIONALE
A great body of research has been done to Brgy. Nadongholoan, Ormoc City,
Leyte as per requirement for the subject Community Engagement, Solidarity and
Leadership which aims to gather input from citizens and stakeholders regarding
their opinions and problems within their community, help them better understand
and consider factors and ideas for addressing specific need and issue, assist them in
identifying alternatives, consequences, and preferred solutions and help identity
stakeholders, linkages, about decision matters, contribute to implementation,
solution finding. The team itself has undergo different approaches in the
community of Brgy. Nadongholan and found out that they have a minor problem
regarding waste disposal management in a general factor. The engagement team
has planned and implemented a program through establishing sustainability and
community relations among the people such as creating linkages to the locals
specifically - ENRD, an orientation about Waste Disposal Management by
providing them an information (Garbage Collection Schedule) and involved them
to ask for further queries.

COMMUNIT Y PROFILING
Community Perspective
• Problems on waste disposal and segregation
• Problem on the garbage collection (schedule, time, and type of waste)
 Garbage collectors always pick up garbage in a hurry which is the reason
that other parts of the community’s garbage are not being collected
particularly to those areas that are not accessible to vehicles.
 Garbage trucks just stick to the households near the main road.
 The identified area for garbage ready for pick up has no facility that could
hold the garbage.
 They burn their trashes when it was not collected by the garbage collectors.
• implemented to raise awareness to the minors and different sectors?
