Abstract

This paper studied the effect of various


leadership styles to gain sustainable
competitive advantage in the South
Asian emerging market.
In this context, the relationship of
leadership styles, national, social and
cultural differences with new paradigm
and economic shifts Western and
Eastern countries has been investigated.
A theoretical model has developed to
show the interrelations between
leadership styles practices in MNCs
across their subsidiaries
Introduction
The growing importance of emerging
economies has lead to an upsurge of strategy
research on the topic. Leadership
development is important, but it appears that
many companies do not follow proper
leadership styles that meets the demands of
the globalization. This article will point out
and analyzed the significant differences
between various leadership styles of the
West, East and SouthAsia in order to achieve
the root of as well as explanation for those
disparities.

1. The purpose of this article is to show how


West and East based MNC’s can export,
import and adopt the effective leadership
style to achieve their sustainable
competitive advantage in South Asian
emerging market.
2. Another purpose is to show the
differences between Western and Eastern

practices, and how the MNC’s emerges
with the culture.

Discussion:

The objective of this article was to


examine the significant effect of
leadership style to gain organizational
sustainable competitive advantage. It
was discovered that there is a positive
and negative correlation between
leadership style dimension and
sustainable competitive advantage.

Conclusion:
There isn’t one style that works perfectly in every situation. But if you come up with a style
that’s suited to your business and your team, you could be well on your way to leading a
successful team. In some cases, the most common courses of action are not the most
effective. Of course, these findings are not the final word. Every organization has a unique
culture, employee population, programs, and challenges, and these factors influence which

strategies and tactics are truly best practices.
