INTRODUCTION
• Building and Enhancing New Literacies Across the Curriculum is aligned
with the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST), the
standards of quality teaching in the Philippines.
• The PPST consists of:
- 7 domains, 37 strands and 148 performance indicators of good

• The PPST are focused on the development of the 21st Century teacher
who can respond to the demand of the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum
which the Department of Education began implementing in SY 2012-2013.
INTRODUCTION:

• This course is also aligned with the Program Outcomes common to all Teacher
Education Program as contained in CMO No. 74-80 and No. 82, s. 2017

• The current trends in education such as constructivist, integrative, interactive,

INTRODUCTION:
• This focuses on literacy enhancement ( multi-cultural, global, social, media,
financial, digital/ cyber, ecoliteracy, arts and creative literacy) with an
outcome-based approach in a global context.
• Reflective analysis of every concept, reality- based interpretations, practical
samples, techniques and advice from professional experts and specialist in
various fields to enlighten every pre-service teacher.
• There is a relevant research in every Module to support and complement
for reflection, analysis and reference purposes.
INTRODUCTION & REQUIREMENTS:

• To enhance understanding of concept, concept maps are provided.


At the end of every lesson, are LET- like items to prepare pre-
service teachers for the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET)
• Upon completing the modules, an online demo-teaching (FINAL
EXAM) is set that would best demonstrate student’s holistic
development while exhibiting their creativity and potentials.
• Electronic Portfolio all outputs, activity documents and performance
evidence will be piled by students to serve as their learning
testament.

• ATTENDANCE 15%
• ATTITUDE/E-PORTFOLIO (Saved in Powerpoint) 10%
• RECITATION 15%
• QUIZZES 15%
• MIDTERM EXAM 15%
• FINAL EXAM (Online demo-Teaching) 30%
