By Emily Butler
SYNOPSIS
- For this FMP, I have produced a cooking show as I have a huge passion
for cooking and baking so I wanted to show that in my work and do
something that I really enjoy and show off my skills in both media and
cooking.
- I knew It would entertain my audience as well as educate and enable
them to learn something especially if they are new to cooking.
WHO DID I PRODUCE THIS
PRODUCTION FOR?
- I produced my production for BBC commissions morning shows.
- They are looking for different productions to show in the
mornings that will entertain, interest and engage their
audience.
- I felt a cooking show would be good for the BBC to air and it
would hold a wide audiences attention especially those who
want to learn to cook.
MY PRODUCTION
Here is my final production, my
cooking show on making a zingy
chicken stir-fry from a BBC food
recipe which I love and feel
worked very well and is very quick
and easy.
AIRING PLATFORM
- I have uploaded my production to YouTube as it is such a huge
platform used my 1000’s of people of all different ages so
therefore it will be seen my many.
- Also my production is on my personal Weebly website –
emilybutlerualunit8.weebly.com where all of my work is.
TARGET AUDIENCE
- My target audience was suited to a
range of people ranging from my age
group 16/17 as well as adults
interested in cooking and those
wanting to learn.
- From research I found that a large
proportion of cooking show viewers and
audience are typically women even
though a large proportion of chefs are
actually male.
HOW I GENERATED MY
IDEA
- It’s a huge passion for me
- I enjoy it and wanted to do something that I enjoy and is a hobby
so felt like I could produce a good production as I love it and am
able to show of my cooking skills
- Its entertaining, engaging, lifestyle
- Suits such a huge target audience
HOW MY RESEARCH
HELPED
- YouTube videos – different chefs like Jamie Oliver, Chef Ramsey
helped me to know how I needed to produce my cooking show and
what to do to engage my audience
- Helped me feel better and have a better idea of what I was going to do
- Surveys – helped me to understand what my target audience would
want to see in my production, what to include (people in the show not
just myself, top tips, useful hacks etc) and what too cook/type of dish.
THE WHOLE PROCESS
- A lot changed through out shooting my production
- Camera problems, meaning I only had 2 camera angles
- Lost footage and lost work meaning I had to start over at one
point
- Had to cut short the production as was limited on time
- Ended up with only one camera shot/angle due to loosing
footage from an SD card
