CULMINATING
PERFORMANCE STANDARD
The class is assigned a designated task for an
interclass dance competition. As a member of the
dance group, the performer will determine the
specific dance movements, proper execution, and
costumes. They will be assessed based on the
following criterion and guidelines; mastery,
creativity, synchronization, and relevance in
relation to the dance competition.

SPECIFIC LEARNING OUTCOMES

 
At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able
to:
 
1.Describe the nature of the dance.
2.Create a Dance choreographic patterns.
3.Display initiative, responsibility and leadership
in the planning session.
 
Time Allotment: 2 hours
PROCEDURES MEETING LEARNERS NEED
INTRODUCTION (10 minutes) The human has an inmate for regular rhythmic
movements. Whether this is in the form of
athletics, activities of daily living ,or dance , the
human body is the primary instrument for each
(Myers, 2005). Dance uses the body as
instruments of expression in time and space.

The teacher will present a picture/video presentation.

MOTIVATION (10 minutes) Activity 1

The teacher demonstrates the fundamental


positions of the arms and feet and let the
students follow. The students will perform
using a music with 4/4 and 2/4 time signature.

INSTRUCTION (20 minutes) Activity 2 (Group Discussion)

The teacher will divide the class into 8 groups and let the students
form a line and demonstrate the steps using the provided dance
patterns.

The basic steps of Folkdance:


- Waltz
- Gallop
- Change steps or two-step
- Polka
- Mazurka
- Close Step
- Leap
- Three-step turn

Activity 3 (Show Me How to Do It)


The learners will now present the basic dance patterns to the whole
class.

PRACTICE (15 minutes) Activity 4 (Execution)

The student will proceed to their respective


groups and practice the basic steps of
folkdance. Using the basic steps of
folkdance and the fundamental positions the
students will create their own 3-minute
creative dance– using a music with 4/4 time
signature.
