NEED & REQUIREMENTS OF THE

DRAWING FOR CIVIL ENGINEERING
PROJECTS
16

 Before the construction of any structure, first we need to create

the drawings of the desired structure.
 Drawings are important not in Civil engineering only but also in
other fields of Engineering. That’s why we call it Engineering
Drawing which have certain standards to be followed.
 A drawing will consist of all the constructional details that will
be required in the field. It will show the clear spacing between
the bars, the alignment of bars in column, beam etc.
17

 For suppose you want to construct a building so

you will first clearly see the drawing and check all
details mentioned in it and then will proceed for
construction work.
 We take an EXAMPLE of Floor Plan as shown in
next slide.
18
19

 Like other branches of Engineering field, Drawing is the

most important aspect of Civil Engineering.
 No drawing means No construction of building, dam, bridge
etc.
 Which means Nothing can be done without putting and
expressing it on paper in the form of drawings.
 Even in the field at every instance it is the drawing which is
referred and followed by everyone involved in construction.
