Understanding Digital Media Technology

Digital Literacy
The ability to use digital technology,
communication tools or networks to locate,
evaluate, use, and create information.

Media Literacy
The ability to read, analyze, evaluate and produce
communication in a variety of media forms.
Media refers to the combination of physical objects
used to communicate media messages. An a source
of credible information in which contents are
provided through an editorial process determined by
journalistic values and therefore editorial
accountability can be attributed to an organization or
a legal person.

Digital Media is defined as those technologies that


enable users to make new forms of communications,
interactions, and entertainment in digital format.
Interactivity is an essential feature of digital
media applications in teaching and learning
for it enriches educational experience.
Multimedia refers to graphic, audio, text and
video. It is a powerful avenue in
communicating information and messages to
other people. Multimedia tools provide a
wide range of sensory stimuli.

based presentation or application software
