Solid Waste
Solid wastes:
All wastes arising from human and animal
activities that are normally solid and that are
discarded as useless and unwanted.

Improper management of solid wastes have direct


adverse effects on health and the environment.

Types of wastes:
Municipal wastes: food wastes, rubbish, ashes and
residues, demolition and construction wastes, special
wastes (hazardous waste) ; treatment-plant wastes
etc.

Waste management :
