THE MOST VALUABLE LESSON I
LEARNED?
THE DEBATE BACK IN DECEMBER
WHAT HAPPENED AT THE DEBATE

•Our topic was legalizing Marijuana, and we are the Affirmative Side. Plus it was
so fun and exciting because that was my first time participating a debate. Though, I
didn’t do that much well, but I say I deliver my speech quite nicely.

And as we practice so many times, days before the debate began. Eventually, it
paid the price as we won by just one point and we are so happy because we don’t
want to lose especially me and my group mates put so much effort into this.

FINAL THOUGHTS

• Debate participation promotes problem solving and

innovative thinking and helps students to build links
between words and ideas that make concepts more
meaningful. 2 Debate students are taught to synthesize
wide bodies of complex information, and to exercise
creativity and implement different ways of knowing.
