INTRODUCTION

Land development refers to altering the landscape in any number


of ways like changing landforms from a natural or semi-natural
state for a purpose such as housing or subdividing real estate into
lots, typically for the purpose of building homes.
PURPOSE
Purpose of land development is to make the environment more useful and comfortable for
humanity.
Must be done in an organized and planned manner which help in development of city.
Most often must be able to create a profit.
Must meet political economic and aesthetics, while maintaining solid engineering principles.

Land development may be undertaken for any type of land use: industrial, commercial (offices,
retail), public or residential uses.
Land development is essential for a community's success.
It can generate more jobs, bring desired curb appeal, unite community members, and maintain or
increase home values.
