• The clay used to make this tile is generally more denser than ceramic tiles CERAMIC TILE
• The water absorption rate of Porcelain Tile is less than 0.5% than ceramic tiles
MARBLE FLOORING
• It is made up of metamorphic rock that forms when a sedimentary stone ,such as
limestone ,which is
transformed under heat and pressure into a harder stone with beautiful color and veined PORCELAIN TILE
patterns.
• It is a very popular type of flooring nowadays which gives the house a sophisticated
natural look

VINYL SHEET
• These are excellent for bathrooms and basements. Water does not get beneath these type MARBLE FLOORING

• Vinyl Sheets are made up of synthetic polymers .They comes in large roll bundle and then
they are cut and fitted into the floor
• These types of flooring requires low maintainance

GRANITE FLOORING
• Granite is one of the best known Igneous Rock. They are made by processing granite until
making it a smooth surface
• Granite flooring is generally preferred by most people due to its natural beauty
• These are also available in different colors and sizes

TERRAZZO FLOORING
• Terrazzo is a composite material , which is used for floor and wall treatments
• It consists of two layers –The under layer is made up of cement concrete, then the top layer
• Consists of marble chips ,quartz and granite
• After the layer is dried and cured , polishing is done ,It can be used for both indoor and
outdoors

BRICK FLOORING
• They are economical in construction ,specially where good bricks are available
• This flooring is specially suited to ware-house ,stores , godowns etc
• A thick layer of cement or lime concrete is laid over which bricks are laid flat over it

CEMENT CONCRETE FLOORING

• This is commonly used for residential ,commercial and industrial buildings
• They are economical , quite durable and easy to construct
• This type of floor consists of two components- Base concrete and Topping or
Wearing surface

WOODEN FLOORING
• It is used for yoga rooms , dancing halls ,auditoriums etc
• They are not commonly used in residential building of India because Timber flooring is quiet
Costlier
• In hilly areas timber flooring is quite common as timber is cheaply and readily available
• One of the major problems in timber flooring is damp prevention ,this can be fixed by
introducing a D.P.C layer below the flooring
