DEFENITION OF TERMS 11

A.Online Interaction: refers to communication between


teachers, learners, parents and relevant stakeholder using
of any social media platform, as well as, any instant
messaging application, so far as applicable.
B.Social Media: is a web-based platform of communication,
with many applications, that enables online interaction and
facilitates users to generate and share specific contents.
There are various classifications of social media platforms
and one can be classified under the "social networking
sites" such as Facebook.

A.Social Media Group: an online space for small group communication and 12
for people to share their common interests and express their opinion. Groups
allow people to come together around a common cause, issue or activity to
organize, express objectives, and discuss issues, post photos and share
related content.
B.Safeguarding Standards: is a specific set of desired behaviors that are placed
as a basic guide.
C.Parent/s: refers to the biological parent/s of a learner. They refer also to
guardian/s whom the biological parent have given written authorization.
They also refer to any member of the house hold who are of sufficient
maturity or of legal age and who is with the child during on-line interaction.
D.Teachers: Shall mean all school personnel that are required to interact with
