Hot and Cold Places
• Different parts of the world have different weather.
Weather
• Weather is the snow,wind,rain,sunshine etc.…at a particular time or place.
• Heat, wind, and moisture cause changes in our weather.
• Some places have cold weather .
• Some places have hot weather.
• In Jeddah ,Saudi Arabia what weather do we have?

Yes !! We have hot weather.

Typical weather of a place over the whole year.
Equator
An equator is an
imaginary line
around the
middle of the
earth.

• It is very hot near the

equator as the sun rays are
strongest over there.
 Polar regions
• The regions of earth
surrounding the North Pole
and South pole.
• There is low sun at the
poles so its cold.
• The northern polar region is
called the Arctic, and in the
south the polar region is the
continent of Antarctica.

As you go higher up a mountain also affect the climate, for
example, it gets colder.
Mountains and the Sea

There is snow all the year round on the tops of some

high mountains near the equator.
Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania

The highest mountain in African continent.

The sea also affects the climate. Water holds
heat better than the lands does.

Ans:Climate is the typical weather of a place over the whole
