• The difference in the stress values obtained from FEM analysis and Westergaard’s
equation for different slab thicknesses are in the range of 0 to 9%. Similarly, it is
noticed that the difference in the deflection values obtained from FEM analysis and
Westergaard’s equation are in the range of 0 to 7%.
• Temperature Stress- Se=
• It may be seen that the percentage error in the case of temperature stresses is limited
to 5%. Therefore, it may be assumed that the warping stresses estimated using the FE
model are closely matching with the values estimated using Westergaard’s equations.

• Combined load and temperature stress- The percentage deviation in


results obtained from 3D FEM modeling and cumulative addition of
stresses separately ranges from 1-12% .
