COMPOUND SENTENCE
A sentence is made up of group
of words that expresses a complete
thought or meaning. It is used to
express our ideas.

SIMPLE SENTENCE
A simple sentence has one complete thought. It may have
multiple subjects and predicates and some describing
words.

COMPOUND SENTENCE
A compound sentence has two complete thoughts
combined by conjunction for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so. It
has two verbs and may also have describing words.
Examples of Simple sentence
1. We went to the beach.
2. We had fun

Example of Compound sentence


We went to the beach and we had so
much fun.
Examples of Simple Sentences
1. Martha eats nutritious food.
2. Allan and Andrew sweep the floor.
3. The Cruz family went to church yesterday.
 
Examples of Compound Sentences
1. I got a high score in the test for I studied my lessons well.
2. You wipe the table and I will wash the dishes.
3. I do not drink soft drinks nor do I eat candies.
4. He was called but he did not answer.
5. They go home before dark or they wait for the beautiful
sunset.
6. It is already very hot, yet it is only early summer.
7. We were bored with the movie so we left.
