OBJECTIVES
• Identify the challenges faced by parents and teachers
in the implementation of MTB-MLE.

• Determine the perception of the parents and teachers


in the implementation of MTB-MLE.

• Examine if there is a difference between the parent’s


and teachers’ perceptions and challenges of the
implementation of MTB-MLE.

Statement of the Problem
This study aims to determine the perceptions and challenges of parents and teachers in the implementation of Mother Tongue

Based-Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE) in primary grades.

Specifically, this study sought to answer the following questions:

1.What are the perceptions of the parents and teacher on the implementation of Mother Tongue Based-Multilingual Education (MTB-

MLE) in primary grades?

2.What are the challenges of the parents and teacher on the implementation of Mother Tongue Based-Multilingual Education (MTB-

MLE) in primary grades?

3.Is there a difference between teachers and parent’s perceptions in the implementation of Mother Tongue Based- Multilingual

Education?

4.Is there a difference between teachers and parents’ challenges in the implementation of Mother Tongue Based- Multilingual

Education?

Description of the
study

This study will be titled “ Mother Tongue Based-


Multilingual Education: Perception and Challenges”. This
study will employ a Mixed method of qualitative and
quantitative design. The data gathered will be used to
determine if there are significant differences between the
parent’s and teachers’ perceptions and challenges on the
implementation of MTB-MLE.
RATIONALE

Nowadays, more often than not, children in primary grades are


neither fully proficient in their mother tongue nor the English
language. The implementation of Mother Tongue-Based-Multilingual
education in the Philippines brought a couple of challenges that
schools have been taking into consideration.

 The participants are composed of 30 teachers and


50 parents with a total of 80 participants.

the successful implementation of Mother Tongue- Based Multilingual

OF DATA

 The data gathered will be analyzed by applying


statistical measures accordingly using a T-test on
Microsoft Excel Formula.
