INVERSE FUNCTION

Inverse Function is denoted by

is the set of ordered pairs (y,
x).

2
INVERSE FUNCTION

A function f has an inverse function if and only if f is

 One-to-one function
 A decreasing or increasing function

INVERSE FUNCTION
FINDING THE INVERSE OF A FUNCTION
If a function is one-to-one, then its inverse can be
obtained by the following simple steps:
1. Replace f(x) by y.
2. Interchange x and y variables.
3. Solve for y in terms of x.
4. Replace y by (x).
