a. Background of the study


It tells what the research is all about.
Contains general description of the research to
be conducted.
It must be supported and supplemented by
reliable studies that may be local or foreign and,
preferably, that were conducted within past five
years.

c. Statement of the Problem


describes the context for the study.
Tips in Writing the Statement of the Problem

The research problem should be specific, reliable,


measurable, valid, and objectively stated.
It could be in declarative or interrogative form.

d. Hypothesis
tentative explanation for phenomena or events. It is
a scientific guess that requires thorough investigation.

Null hypothesis
general statement stating that no relationship exists
between two measured variables or phenomena.
Alternative hypothesis
difference or an effect between two or more
variables is anticipated to exist.

indicates the possible contributions of the research
findings to people and to the community.
