What is the Difference?

A restricted space is a space that is difficult to enter

and exit from and not intended for continuous
occupancy.

RESTRICTED SPACE & CONFINED SPACE

Confined space is a space that can become hazardous to a worker

entering it because of: 
• An atmosphere that is or may be injurious by reason of oxygen
deficiency or enrichment, flammability, explosivity or toxicity
(Suasana yang atau mungkin merugikan karena kekurangan atau
pengayaan oksigen, mudah terbakar, mudah meledak atau beracun)
• A condition or changing set of circumstances within the space that
presents a potential for injury or illness, or (Heat Stress, Phobia)
(Suatu kondisi atau serangkaian keadaan yang berubah di dalam ruang
yang berpotensi menimbulkan cedera atau penyakit, atau (Stres Panas,
Phobia))
• The potential or inherent characteristics of an activity which can
produce adverse or harmful consequences within the
space. (Entrapment, Hot Work inside CS) (Potensi atau karakteristik
yang melekat dari suatu kegiatan yang dapat menghasilkan konsekuensi
yang merugikan atau berbahaya di dalam ruang. (Jebakan, Pekerjaan
Panas di dalam CS))

What is Emergency Rescue Plan

Form to support worker to know what to do before carryout their site activity and
in case of emergency (Formulir untuk mendukung pekerja untuk mengetahui apa yang
harus dilakukan sebelum melakukan aktivitas di lokasi mereka dan dalam keadaan
darurat)
• To remind worker related potential hazard at workplace, their activity,
Emergency equipment requirements to support workplace activity, Other
rescue equipment requirements, and location of emergency Equipment also.
(Untuk mengingatkan pekerja terkait potensi bahaya di tempat kerja, aktivitas
mereka, persyaratan peralatan darurat untuk mendukung aktivitas tempat kerja,
persyaratan peralatan penyelamatan lainnya, dan lokasi peralatan darurat juga.)
• To appointed emergency personnel (Auxiliary team) at working location during
their activity including role and responsibility.(Menunjuk personel darurat (Tim
Pembantu) di lokasi kerja selama kegiatan mereka termasuk peran dan tanggung
jawab)

What is Emergency Rescue Plan

Form to support worker to know what to do before carryout their site

activity (Formulir untuk mendukung pekerja mengetahui apa yang harus dilakukan sebelum
melakukan aktivitas di lokasi mereka)
• To Remind Supervisor and worker related their role and responsibility at
workplace during preparing, work activity and in case of emergency.
(Mengingatkan Supervisor dan pekerja terkait peran dan tanggung jawab mereka di tempat
kerja selama persiapan, aktivitas kerja dan dalam keadaan darurat)
• To provide guidance in case emergency situation at their working
place and in case have general raised alarm.(Untuk memberikan panduan

STANDBY MAN RESPONSIBILITY

• Establishes communication with all workers, using the means described in

the attached “on-site rescue plan” (Membangun komunikasi dengan semua
pekerja, menggunakan cara yang dijelaskan dalam "rencana penyelamatan di
tempat" terlampir)
• The standby man who is stationed outside and near the entrance to the
confined space as described in the attached “on-site Restricted space rescue
plan” remains in constant communication with all workers (Petugas siaga yang
ditempatkan di luar dan di dekat pintu masuk ke ruang terbatas seperti yang
dijelaskan dalam “Rencana penyelamatan ruang terbatas di lokasi” yang terlampir

WORKER RESPONSIBILITY

Workers should leave the Restricted workspace as soon as

possible, when (Pekerja harus meninggalkan ruang kerja yang

- An order to evacuate is given by the hole watcher or entry

supervisor (Perintah untuk mengungsi diberikan oleh pengawas
lubang atau pengawas masuk)
- Entrant identify a sign or symptom of over-exposure /
another potential hazard (Peserta mengidentifikasi tanda atau
gejala paparan berlebih / potensi bahaya lainnya)
- An unacceptable condition arises or (Kondisi yang tidak dapat
diterima muncul atau)
- an evacuation alarm is activated.
RESTRICTED SPACE ACTIVITY
The Hole Watcher responsible to ensure:

- All of personnel involve Restricted space activity use personal protective equipment properly (Semua personel yang
terlibat Aktivitas ruang terbatas menggunakan alat pelindung diri dengan benar)

- Ensure Additional protective equipment required in Risk Assessment and Job Safety Analysis are available and
used properly (Pastikan peralatan pelindung tambahan yang diperlukan dalam Penilaian Risiko dan Analisis Keselamatan Kerja
tersedia dan digunakan dengan benar)

- Ensure All Protective equipment in good condition and worker

use properly and correctly (Pastikan Semua Alat Pelindung Diri dalam
kondisi baik dan pekerja digunakan dengan baik dan benar)

- Ensure tools and equipment to be used inside restricted

workspace already inspected, good condition and emergency
shutdown system working properly. (Pastikan alat dan perlengkapan
yang akan digunakan di dalam ruang kerja terbatas sudah diperiksa,
kondisi baik dan sistem shutdown darurat bekerja dengan baik)
RESTRICTED SPACE ACTIVITY

The Hole Watcher responsible to ensure:

- Ensure all entrants leave their Badge ID at tailboard before entering to restricted
space. (Pastikan semua peserta meninggalkan ID Badge mereka di tailboard sebelum
masuk ke ruang terbatas)

- Ensure all entrants take their Badge ID from tailboard when leaving restricted
workspace. (Pastikan semua peserta mengambil ID Badge mereka dari tailboard saat
meninggalkan ruang kerja terbatas.)
