PRE SPANISH PERIOD
Hunting and picking to gather foods to eat

SPANISH REGIME
Games were played during special occasions such as:

 Gymnastics was introduce during 1893
AMERICAN PERIOD
 1901- Physical exercise was introduced in public schools and became
a regular program of athletics was developed.
 1905- Baseball and Track And field were introduce and taught to
young boys in school.
 1910- Basketball was first taught to young girls in the Carnival meet
held in Manila but later was discontinued in 1914 because it was
found very strenuous for the girls.
 1920- Physical education became a subject in the curriculum of all
public schools.
 1969- Athletic meets were introduced.

ORGANIC DEVELOPMENT
This is the development of power and
endurance of the heart, lungs heat-regulating
mechanism.
NEUROMUSCULAR
DEVELOPMENT
The development of skills and coordination of
the different nerve muscles in the body and
strength in the skeletal muscles.
EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The development and maturity of impulses
and emotions through activities which give
them expressions under different
circumstances.
CRITICAL THINKING
 It develops and strengthens the thinking and
interpretation and problem solving process of an
individual.
