PRE SPANISH PERIOD

SPANISH REGIME

AMERICAN PERIOD
1901- Physical exercise was introduced in public schools and became
a regular program of athletics was developed.
1905- Baseball and Track And field were introduce and taught to
young boys in school.
1910- Basketball was first taught to young girls in the Carnival meet
held in Manila but later was discontinued in 1914 because it was
found very strenuous for the girls.
1920- Physical education became a subject in the curriculum of all
public schools.
1969- Athletic meets were introduced.

ORGANIC DEVELOPMENT
This is the development of power and
endurance of the heart, lungs heat-regulating
mechanism.
NEUROMUSCULAR
DEVELOPMENT
The development of skills and coordination of
the different nerve muscles in the body and
strength in the skeletal muscles.
EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The development and maturity of impulses
and emotions through activities which give
them expressions under different
circumstances.
CRITICAL THINKING
It develops and strengthens the thinking and
interpretation and problem solving process of an
individual.
