The Difference between Aesthetic Arts and Crafts

• Aesthetics is from Greek word


“eisthesis” which means
“perception”.
• It is a branch of philosophy
devoted to the study of art and
beauty used during 18th century
by Alexander Baumgarten, a
German philosopher.
The Difference between Aesthetic Arts and Crafts
• “craft” comes form a German word
“Kraft” which means “power” or
“ability”.
• William Morris (March 24, 1834 –
October 3, 1896) was known for his
pattern designs, particularly on fabrics,
and wallpapers.
