PERCEPTION OF STEM 1 STUDENTS ON MODULAR DISTANCE

LEARNING

INTRODUCTION

Since the worldwide pandemic occur, One of the affected is the


education sector both students and teacher. In order to address these
problem one of the solution that they suggest is the Distance learning or
the Modular distance learning. In this approach of learning system,
students are be given their modules to be answered to their home
within a given specific time and it’s more likely a homework.In this study,
the researcher aims to know the perception of the student specially
STEM 1 Students to know their thoughts regarding on this modular
learning system. To identify their advantages and disadvantages. This
study were able to determine what are the factor that drive the
student’s in making their perception whether it is negative or positive.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The aim of the study are the following:


1.To determine the perception of STEM 1 students on Modular
distance learning.
2.To identify the advantage and disadvantage of the Modular
learning system.
3.To determine what drives the students in making their
Perception whether it’s positive or negative.
SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

The coverage of this study is to conduct survey to identify


the perception of the stem 1 students of Isulan National High
School regarding to modular learning system. This may also
tackle some issues that may affect their perception. The scope
of study is to conduct interviews to selected Stem 1 students
for further evaluation.
SIGNIFICANT OF THE STUDY

The significant of this study is that the researcher were able to


know the perception of STEM 1 students with regards to this
new approach of educational system “The modular distance
learning”. This is not just for the students but also for the
parents as well, the researcher were able to make suggestions
base on the outcome of this research
DEFINATION OF TERMS
Distance learning. A method of study where teachers and students do not meet in a classroom
but use the internet, e-mail, etc., to have classes.
STEM. This term is typically used to address an education policy or curriculum choices in
schools. It has implications for workforce development, national security concerns and
immigration policy.
Modular learning. Is a form of distance learning that uses self-learning Modules (SLM) based on
the most essential competencies (MELCS) developed by the teachers with the aid of curriculum
Developers.
METHODOLOGY

This chapter describe the methodology of the research


discussing the design, locale of the study, respondent of the
study, sampling procedure, research instrument, data
gathering procedure, statistical treatment.
Research Design

The descriptive design used in this study since it aims to


determine the perception of STEM 1 students on Modular
distance learning.
Locale of the study

Isulan National High School is the locale of the study. It


is located at Capitol East, Kal II, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat. The
student of Grade 12 STEM 1.
Isulan National High School is one of the big schools in
the division of Sultan Kudarat. It is awarded with level 3 in
School Based Management and hall of Fame in the
implementation of Brigada Eskwela.
Respondent of the study

The respondent of the study will be the grade 12 STEM 1


students of Senior High School. These students provided
descriptions about their advantage and disadvantage on
Modular distance learning.
Sampling procedure

The respondent will be selected (intentionally).


This are the grade 12 STEM 1 of Senior High School. This study
will use simple random sampling which is anyone will have a
chance to be selected.
Research Instrument
Semi- structured interview guide will be used as a significant
instrument in gathering the description about their advantage and
disadvantage on Modular distance learning. The STEM 1 students
respondent will be given a questionnaire by the researcher.
Data Gathering Procedure

The researcher will make a letter to be signed by the


adviser as approved by the school principal of Isulan National
High School to obtain permission to conduct the data
gathering. The researcher will distribute the questionnaire to
the respondents directly. The researcher will guide the
respondents on how to answer the questionnaire honestly so
that they could gather accurate data.
Statistical Treatment

The statistical treatment use to this research study is the


weighted mean to determine the students perception on
Modular distance learning.
