ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE
AMIDST PRESSURE:
GRADE-11 STEM STUDENTS'
COPING MECHANISMS
AGAINST STRESS INVOLVING
ACADEMIC PRESSURE
• INTRODUCTION
• Academic pressure is a situation in which a student feels overwhelmed
by the time and energy requirements to achieve certain academic goals
(Durrette, 2020).
• Students, teenagers, and young adults are vulnerable.
• Drive for excellence, peer overwhelming expectations, commitments,
academic responsibilities, or demanding workloads.
• Students are under increased pressure to perform
well in school, leading to increased stress levels.
3
• INTRODUCTION
• Overwhelming academic pressure can have a negative impact on
students' academic performance by increasing the prevalence of
psychological and physical problems.
• Unfortunately, the Philippines is facing a dramatic rise in student
suicide and mental health issues, raising local and global concerns.
Further research is needed to address this issue.

3
• INTRODUCTION
• This study aims to provide awareness of the adverse effects of academic
pressure on the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of students.
• Determine ways to cope with the detrimental effect of academic pressure
and stress, and provide solutions for the locally and globally concerning
issue on the mental health of the students.
