This document discusses a study investigating the impact of alcoholism on the academic performance of criminology students at UMBC. The study aims to understand the reasons students consume alcohol and how it affects their situation and performance. A qualitative methodology is used where alcoholic criminology students are interviewed about how alcohol influences them, difficulties encountered, drinking frequency, and motivations. The objectives are to examine the causes of alcohol intake, evaluate its impact on academic performance, and recommend ways to lower risks of alcohol-related issues.

ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF CRIMINOLOGY STUDENTS OF UM BANSALAN COLLEGE INTRODUCTION
RATIONALE
•Alcohol consumption has long been regarded as an important part of college
culture. Students may use alcohol to cope with stress, negative emotions, or to appear mature. Alcohol use has a negative impact on some students and families by increasing the likelihood of dropouts and failing classes.
•Drinking can be associated with high-risk behavior, such as driving while
intoxicated, risky and unplanned sexual behavior, and fighting. Excessive alcohol use also reduced the amount of time and sleep students had to study. Students who consume more alcohol continue to have irregular sleep patterns, which has a negative impact on academic performance
•The researchers want to investigate the impact of alcohol use to academic
performance of criminology students, particularly first year college students of UMBC. OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
1.To investigate the fundamental causes of alcohol intake and
its impact on students' academic performance.
2.To evaluate the impact of alcoholism and to pinpoint the key
elements influencing the students' alcohol usage.
3.To propose recommendations for ways that students might
lower their risk of alcohol-related problems, poor academic outcomes, and detrimental effects on their mental health. METHODOLOGY
RESEARCH DESIGN
The aim of this study is to help us understand the reasons
given by the students for being alcoholic and their every situation as to why they've been consuming alcoholic beverages. A qualitative research will put high value on peoples thinking or point of view conditioned by their personal traits. RESEARCH PARTICIPANTS
The target participants of the study are those criminology students of UM
Bansalan College (UMBC) who are Alcoholic. Students who are consuming alcoholic drinks during school days.
RESEARCH INSTRUMENT
1.Does consuming alcohol influence you in a positive or bad way?
•What difficulties have you encountered?
•How frequently do you consume alcoholic beverages? •What was your primary motivation for drinking alcohol? GOD BLESS AND THANK YOU!
