•Background of the study
Alcohol addiction is a serious problem that affects
people of all ages, but it can be particularly
detrimental to grade 11 students. At this stage of
development, students are critical period of their
lives where they are experiencing significant
changes in their physical, emotional and social
well-being.

The use of alcohol during this period can have


long-term effects on their overall health and well-
being.

• Related Literature
A. Local literature
In the Philippines, Alcohol addiction among adolescence is a growing concern according to a
study by Aguirre et al.(2019), the prevalence of alcohol use among adolescents aged 13-15
years old.

B. International literature
According to a study conducted by World Health Organization (WHO), alcohol consumption
among young adults is associated with adverse health consequences such as liver disease,
cancer, and mental health disorders.
C. Foreign Literature
Studies conducted in other country have also reported similar findings. A study by Kunstsche
et al. (2018) found that peer influence availability, and lack of parental supervision were
significant predictors of alcohol consumption among adolescence in Switzerland.

This model is called the Independent variable (IV) and Dependent Variable
(DV). In contrast to the dependent variable, which is the result, the
independent variable is the cause.

•Data Collection procedure

The process for gathering the needed data in the study is described in the following
steps.
1. The researchers will secure permission of the school to obtain a list of grade 11
students from which the samples will be selected. Also, A permission to conduct data
collection will be sought from the concerned officials of the school.
2. Asking the consent to the participants.
3. Start to conduct the interview.
4. Note the information you gathered.
5. Summarize the information that is may relevant to our research topic.
• Plan for data analysis

The data analysis procedure in this study will include a qualitative analysis of the
interview.
The thematic analysis will be used to analyzed the transcribed interview data.
