The document provides a guide and checklist for using the scientific method. It explains the 7 key steps of the scientific method as: 1) making observations, 2) asking questions, 3) making a hypothesis, 4) starting an experiment, 5) analyzing results, 6) reaching a conclusion, and 7) communicating results. For each step, it provides a brief explanation of the process and purpose. The overall purpose of following the scientific method is to allow exploration of new ideas and how they connect to existing knowledge.

B Y: D A N YA K H E L FA WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD? The purpose is to excite us with new ideas.
The scientific method helps us connect new ideas to existing
ones. 1 BEGIN BY MAKING OBSERVATIONS Observations help us explore how we can change or add to what we see.
Observations help us to ask questions.
2 FOLLOW BY ASKING QUESTIONS By asking questions we begin to allow for more possibilities to help with guide our hypothesis. We can ask questions that start with Who? What? When? Where? Why? and How? 3 MAKE YOUR HYPOTHESIS In making your hypothesis, you may be asking a question to find an answer, or making a statement to see if it is true or false.
As a statement, "Students prefer to drink orange juice over
milk."
As a question, "Why do students prefer to drink orange juice
over milk?" 4 START YOUR EXPERIMENT Gather the proper material and information to do your experiement. When conducting your experiement, be sure to record the data, and the results that happened whether good or bad. 5 ANALYZE YOUR RESULTS Once all the data is collected, decide whether or not the results satisfy what you mentioned in your hypothesis. 6 REACH YOUR CONCLUSION Your conculsion should connect back to your hypothesis. Ask yourself: Was the statement true or false? Did my results answer the question I asked in my hypothesis? 7 COMMUNICATE YOUR RESULTS The final step in the scientific method is to communicate and publish your conclusions so that others may benefit from your research. CHECKLIST Make your observations Analyze your results
Ask follow-up questions Reach your conclusion
Make your hypothesis Communicate your results
Conduct your experiment
