What is a lifestyle?
-it refers to the way of a
person or a group of people
lives.
Weight Management

-refers to a set of practices and behaviors that is


necessary to keep one’s weight at a healthful level.
PHYSICAL FITNESS
 Is a capacity of each individual to accomplish tasks with
alertness and vigor.

HOW CAN WE SAY THAT YOU ARE


PHYSICALLY FIT?
 Fit people are considered physically fit if they can
perform their daily work efficiently and effectively with
alertness and vigor.

 Ability of a muscle to make repeated contractions over a
period of time.

ENDURANCE/AEROBIC CAPACITY
 Being able to do and continue physical activities
involving the whole body for a long period of time.

FLEXIBILITY
 Ability of joints to move through a full range of motion.
BODY COMPOSITION
 Formula: Weight (kg)/Height (m^2)
 Example:

weight = 68 kg
Height =165 cm (1.65m)
Solution:
BMI = Weight (kg)/Height (m^2)
BMI = 68 kg/ (1.65m)^2
BMI = 24.98
RATING BMI
Underweight < 18.5
Healthy Range 18.5-24.9
Overweight 25-29.9
Obese >30

of reaction to that stimulation.
POWER
 Ability to transfer energy into force at a fast rate.

SPEED
 Ability to perform a movement or cover a distance in a
short period of time.
FITNESS ASSESSMENT
 Series of measurements and test that will help identify
the status of one’s physical fitness.
 Test include evaluating BMI:
 Resting heart rate
 Health-related tests
 Skill-related test
