 About Other Operating System
 When IBM launched its revolutionary personal computer, the
IBM PC, in August 1981, it came complete with a 16-bit
operating system from Microsoft, MS-DOS 1.0.

 This was Microsoft's first operating system, and it also

became the first widely used operating system for the IBM PC
and its clones.

 It manages the computer's memory and processes, as well as

all of its software and hardware. It also allows you to
communicate with the computer without knowing how to
speak the computer's language.

Hardware to Communicate with each other.

 An operating system is a powerful, and usually

large, program that controls and manages the
hardware and other software on a computer.

 All computers and computer-like devices

require operating systems, including your laptop,
tablet, desktop, smartphone, smartwatch, and
router.

 In 1993, Microsoft released Windows NT 3.1,
the first version of the newly-
developed Windows NT operating system. Unlike
the Windows 9x series of operating systems, it is a
fully 32-bit operating system.

 Microsoft Windows XP 64-bit edition

(version 2002) for Itanium systems was
released on March 28, 2003

 Microsoft also releases Windows Server 2008

R2, which is the first 64-bit only server
operating system.
 Simply put, a 64-bit processor is more
capable than a 32-bit processor, because it
can handle more data at once.

 Here's the key difference: 32-bit processors

are perfectly capable of handling a limited
amount of RAM (in Windows,
4GB or less), and 64-bit processors are
capable of utilizing much more.
